Roullete, also known as Roulette, is a casino game that features a spinning wheel. It is a fast-paced game that offers players a variety of betting options. Players can place bets on a single number, various groupings of numbers, the color red or black, and whether it is odd or even.

The game is played on a special table that is covered with a felt surface. There is a centrally located wheel with a compartment or pocket (called a canoe by croupiers) that contains thirty-six painted, nonconsecutive red and black numbers 1 through 36. A 0 and 00 are also found on European-style wheels. An American-style version has two green pockets on opposite sides of the wheel that are marked with 0 and 00.

The odds of winning a straight-up bet on any one number are 37 to 1, but the payouts for other bets are lower and that is where the house gets its edge in this game. The best way to get around the edge is to learn some of the more advanced advantage play techniques like Wheel Bias and Chaos Theory, but those tactics are hard to perfect and require advanced mathematics skills. Unlike poker or blackjack, it is unlikely that a player will be able to win enough games of roulette to make a career out of the game.
